Welcome to Anesthesia Wiki!
I want to begin by welcoming you to this site and then start off by stating that this site will always be free now and in the future. I have zero intentions of ever collecting information from all the minds of the world and then profit on it. There are currently many resources we already have, some free some not but to my knowledge none that can be actively edited/added to on the fly. You can access this page anytime from anywhere including mobile phones while you're in the OR. If you are editing a page, I recommend using a computer as it will be significantly easier.
So this is a project/resource I've decided to create to help all the medical/anesthesia people around the world. I've tried to organize surgical procedures, drug types, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, nerve blocks, crisis management, and miscellaneous cliff notes in the left menu side. In each of these categories, I've added thousands of pages of different elements of anesthesia. You can try browsing for a topic through the menu system or simply type into the search bar if you are looking for something in particular. I believe with the effort of the community, we can build this resource fairly quickly with just minimal contributions from each person. What we would gain is an absolute monster database of knowledge that will always be free, ever changing, and up to date.
A wiki style website is open to anybody and anyone can edit any page on this site. Therefore, it is important to try and keep it organized as best as possible if we as a group decide it is useful for us. Every page has areas to keep things organized with headings, subheadings, paragraphs, bullet lists, table graphs, ability to upload pictures, link YouTube videos (watch video to the right if you need help). There is more than one way to skin a cat, so if you see a method that isn't exactly your style, you can edit the page and create a new heading/subheading and write your own style or add to that one. Over time, if someone is a professional in a topic and wants to contribute solely to a topic--I can assign them as administrator of that particular page/topic and both they and I will have administrative rights to how a page is edited. Once a page requires no further edits, pages can be protected and locked from any further edits. Every page also includes a discussion tab--this area we can discuss the particular page and anything related to it.
